Composer's note


This is a joyful piece in celebration of the long life of a friend of mine.  The first part of each line should be sung quite freely, in plainchant style, and just a little faster than the tutti sections; the note durations given for these plainchant sections are just a guide.  Throughout the piece, please allow a little space between phrases.
